EDITOR,
Pacific Gas & Electric Co. is once again showing its arrogant contempt for its customers. It now expects the ratepayers to foot the $2 billion bill over the next three years to pay for the overhaul of its gas distribution system.
This is the same gas distribution system that PG&E steadfastly failed to maintain so the money could instead be spent as dividends to the shareholders and make the PG&E stock look good.
Well, we say it is time to withhold dividends and upper management’s large paychecks to fix this problem, instead of holding the customers’ safety for ransom. What PG&E is telling us is that either we fork over the money or it will let us blow up. San Bruno was its warning shot.
