Baseball fundraiser on tap
A fundraiser for the Scotts Valley High School Baseball program is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 8 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Malone’s Grille, 4402 Scotts Valley Drive.
Titled “Spirits from around the world,” the fundraiser will include games and tastings with an Olympic Games theme. The effort is to raise money for the baseball facilities at Scotts Valle High School.

Steelheads undefeated in softball play
The Steelheads have a 9-0 record as of Wednesday, July 25 in the IOOF SLV co-ed recreational softball league. The team leads second place Torture (6-1) and Mt. Mechanics (6-2) in the co-ed division. In the Men’s A-league, the Flingers are 7-1 to lead the division, followed by the Woodpeckers at 5-3.
