Former Secretary of State Bruce McPherson has come out victorious in his bid for 5th District Santa Cruz County Supervisor, nearly one month after the election.
The Santa Cruz County Clerk’s Office certified the county results of the Nov. 6 general election, this afternoon, Dec. 4.
McPherson, of Pasatiempo, garnered 12,258 votes, a mere 145 votes more than runner-up Eric Hammer of Brookdale, who received 12,113 votes.
The November election was a runoff between the two candidates, as McPherson was just shy of the 50 percent, plus-one vote he needed to win the seat during the June primary.
