Scotts Valley High School’s wrestling team defeated San Lorenzo Valley 54-27 on Tuesday, Jan. 15 following a successful weekend at regional tournaments.
The Scotts Valley girls wrestling team took 14th of 104 teams at the Asic Napa Valley Girls Classic Invitational in Napa on Jan. 12 and 13.
All six girls made it to the final matches of the qualifying round and Domino Parrish took third overall in the 118 pound division. 
Addy Johnson (108 pounds), Alicia Pitts (114 pound ), captain Shelby Baker (122 pounds), Abi Lopes (126 pounds) and Katherine Rossiter (146 pounds) all competed for the Falcons.
The team is preparing for the Central Coast Sectionals on Feb. 1 and 2.
On the boys side Christian Rebotarro at 220 pounds and Nick Reyes at 138 pounds each won their weight class at the Joe Camilari junior varsity tournament at Granada High School on Jan.12.
Scotts Valley took their tournament success into a dual meet with league foe SLV on Tuesday, Jan 15.
For the Cougars, Jason Silva defeated Addy Johnson by pin in the second round at 106 pounds, Jed Kraft defeated Michael Sandavol by pin in the second round at 120 pounds, Michael Kraft defeated Nick Reyes by pin in the second round, Karl Johnson defeated Baldan Dashiev 4-2 at 182 pounds and heavyweight Chass Kamtier won by forfeit.
For Scotts Valley, Alicia Pitts defeated Chad Goble with a third period pin at 113 pounds, Jake Revino defeated Vidal Jones with a first period pin at 126 pounds, Kevin Eddington (126 pounds) and Christian Rebottaro (220 pounds) both won byes, Grant Margerum defeated Sotero Torrata with a first period pin at 138 pounds, Patrick Conte pinned Connor Brooks at 152 pounds in the first, Doug Peyser pinned Patrick Brooks in the first at 160 pounds, Frankie Graves pinned Daniyl Klymenko in the third at 170 pounds and Casey Gombos pinned Nickolas Morgan in the second at 195 pounds.
