Three crime-reporting forums, including one in the Barbara Day Park neighborhood of Boulder Creek, were recently founded by members of the Felton, Ben Lomond and Boulder Creek business associations.
Monitored by members of each association, the forums will allow business owners and residents to keep a record of suspicious activities in and around local businesses.
The goal is to document areas and trends of potential criminal activities so the San Lorenzo Valley detachment of the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office can direct its enforcement.
“It’s just a matter of getting all the neighbors logged on,” said Sgt. John Habermehl. “The more people use it, the more effective it can be — only time is really going to tell.”
Users must register to access each of the forums online.
