Virginia Monohan

A public viewing and memorial service for longtime Felton resident Virginia Monohan will be Friday, March 22, in Felton and Santa Cruz. She died Sunday, March 17, from complications from Alzheimer’s disease. She was 92.
Mrs. Monohan lived in Oakland and enjoyed summers in Felton before moving there in 1966. Known for her gentle ways and thoughtfulness, Mrs. Monohan and her late husband, Neil, loved gatherings of family and friends and would often entertain friends at their home. 
The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1992 with a large gathering at St. John’s Catholic Church in Felton. Mrs. Monohan was a past president of the St John’s Altar Society.
She is survived by her sons, Terry Monohan of San Bruno and Dennis Monohan of Menlo Park; three grandchildren; and many close friends and relatives.
A viewing will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 22, at St. John’s Catholic Church, 120 Russell Ave., in Felton, followed by a funeral Mass. Interment will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, 2271 Seventh Ave., in Santa Cruz.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Monohan’s name may be sent to St. John’s Catholic Church, 120 Russell Ave, Felton CA 95018.
