More than 150 people attended a job fair hosted by the San Lorenzo Valley Chamber of Commerce on Saturday, April 27, in Felton.
According to organizer Beth Hollenbeck, many of the companies in attendance had multiple openings in different fields, which she said pleased those who showed up to look for jobs.
“To stand at the door and see people with hope in their eyes (was great),” she said.
Companies that attended included Palo Alto Medical Foundation, McDonald’s, Mount Hermon Conference Center, Santa Cruz Profile, Shoreline Workforce Development, Santa Cruz Staffing, and several others.
Though no date has been set for the next fair, Hollenbeck said each company at the Felton event was interested in appearing if the job fair returns.
In addition to the jobs, the fair offered resume help, which Hollenbeck said was one of the busiest tables.
“Hands down, it was just totally successful,” Hollenbeck said.
