EDITOR,

After 12 years, I am retiring from Felton Safeway. This was supposed to be a job between jobs and wound up being the longest job I’ve held. Between night crew, produce and checking both early and evenings, I have to say I know the customers morning, noon and night!
I will miss this wonderful community of customers. I am honored that you have shared so much of yourselves with me. You have told me stories, both happy and sad, I’ve watched kids grow up, families move and come back, people have hard times and great times, laugh, cry, rush off to work, or just tell me what you did over the weekend. This week as I’ve told you I was leaving. I was so happy that so many of you wished me well.
Additionally, I will miss my coworkers past and present. I have learned something from each of you and hopefully, vice versa, for as you know; I have never been without an opinion.
But it’s time to get on with my life.  I’m not leaving the SLV where I live and you will see me around. Now I get to stand in line with the rest of you. Thanks for being the community you are.
