Private receives boot camp accolades
2011 San Lorenzo Valley High School graduate Fiona D. Johnson has graduated from several Marine Corps training grounds with high honors this summer.
Private Johnson, 19, graduated from Marine Corps boot camp at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot on Parris Island, S.C. on June 14. She completed her combat training at the School of Infantry at Camp Geiger, N.C. on July 22 and began her Marine Occupational Specialty Training at Camp Johnson in North Carolina this month.
Johnson qualified as an expert at 500 yards on the rifle range and along with her platoon, 4018, won both Close Order Drill competitions against seven other platoons. Her platoon broke a record in one of the competitions at Parris Island. Additionally, Johnson received the top score in both women’s platoons in her combat fitness test at boot camp. She is the Daughter of John R. and Darlene Johnson of Felton.
