Ian Coggins

 A private memorial service will be held for Ian J. Coggins who died at home in Scotts Valley after a two-year battle with brain cancer. He was 54.
Mr. Coggins was born to John and Marion Coggins in Wales, United Kingdom where he grew up. Five years ago he moved to California to marry his soul mate Peggy Collins.
Family said Mr. Coggins always brought out the best in people. He was known for his loving spirit and would brighten any room he walked into. Throughout his illness he maintained his strong, sarcastic sense of humor.
Mr. Coggins practiced photography, fishing and cooking. He enjoyed walking his dog, Archie and loved rugby and the occasional glass of fine scotch whiskey. He spent much quality time with his family and friends, cooking gourmet comfort meals, sitting around the dining table laughing and sharing stories.
During his 35-year career, Mr. Coggins was as a principal project manager within the hospitality industry in the U.K. After he came to California, he became a partner of Sunsup Solar, managing the solar designs and marketing the company. 
He was known by family as a loving husband, father, brother and uncle.
Mr. Coggins is survived by his wife, Peggy Coggins of Scotts Valley; son Alex Coggins and  daughter Grace Coggins of Newport Wales, U.K.; stepdaughter Teresa Sasaki of Scotts Valley; stepson David Sasaki of San Francisco; sister Janet Bagley and her husband Dave of Hereford, England; brother Andrew Coggins and his wife Martha of Wales, U.K. a niece and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, John Mostyn Coggins and Marion Gilmore Coggins.
