Fall ball opens in Scotts Valley
Registration for Scotts Valley Little League’s fall baseball league is open for children ages 5 through 12.
The league runs from Sept. 27 through Nov. 1 on Sunday afternoons and consists of skills training and practice games.
Cost is $30 for T-ball and A levels and $40 for AA, AAA and Majors levels. A fall ball T-shirt and postsession otter pops are included in the price.
Preregister by Tuesday, Sept. 15, and save $5 off the registration fee.

St. Michaels hosts golf tourney
St. Michaels Church in Boulder Creek is hosting A Fourth Round of St. Michaels golf tournament at Boulder Creek Golf and Country Club on Sept. 18.
Registration ends at 11:30 a.m., and the shotgun start is at 1:30 p.m.
The $135 entry price includes the green fee, a buffet lunch, cart, dinner at Scopazzi’s, prizes and a shot at a hole-in-one contest that features a $10,000 prize.
Golf, jewelry and a two-night stay in the Sierra Nevadas will be among the items auctioned off.
Proceeds benefit the charitable work of St. Michaels.
