Cougars upset Mariners on pitch
The San Lorenzo Valley varsity girls soccer team dropped Aptos High School 1-0 on a first half goal by Synclaire Reyes on Thursday, Jan. 16. The Cougars are 2-3 in Santa Cruz Coast Athletic play after falling to Soquel High School 2-0 on January 21.
Falcon wrestling topped by Aptos
The Scotts Valley wrestling team was defeated by Aptos High School 45-30 on Wednesday, Jan. 22 in a duel meet between the two top teams in the league.
For the Falcons, Addy Johnson won 7-5 at 113 pounds, Josh Blum pinned his opponent at 132 pounds, Andy Ramirez won by pin at 160 pounds, Baldan Dashiev pinned his opponent at 182 pounds, Frankie Grabes pinned his opponent at 195 pounds and Sean Stiles won 5-0 at 220 pounds for the Falcons.
