Falcons top Harbor for first win
The Scotts Valley High School boys volleyball team topped Harbor High 3-1 on Tuesday, March 11 for their first win in Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League play.
The Falcons won 25-21, 25-21, 16-25, 25-21 in four games.
The visiting Falcons were led by Ryan Rodriguez 15 kills and 27 assists from Tanner Simonovich. Jonathan Chiu had 2 blocks.
They are 1-2 in the SCCAL and 2-2 overall. They next host Soquel High School at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 18.
Scotts Valley boys, girls win in pool
The Scotts Valley boys topped St. Francis 50-47 and the girls won 88-39 on Friday, March 7.
For the boys, Connor Emmon was a double winner, taking the 200 IM in 2 minutes, 22.99 seconds and the 500 freestyle in 5:06.67.
On the girls side, Madeline Saranto and Meredith Barton were double winners. Barton took the 200 freestyle in 2:21.27 and the 500 free in 6:18.12. Saranto won the 200 IM in 2:43.66 and the 100 butterfly in 1:14.87. The Falcons also swept the relay events. Both the teams are 1-0 on the season and swim Friday, March 21 at Harbor High School at 3:30 p.m.
