AA Division
Brewers 15, Giants 6
Malakhi Higbee hit a pair of singles for the Brewers, which scored Jaden Shabry and Dylan Stayskal — who were each 4-for-4. Nicolas Frey and Zachary Zaremba both went 2-for-2 for the Giants.
Angels 6, A’s 3
The Angels’ Billy Bowers swatted a triple and a single in this game. Tyler Tario also got a single in this 4-inning, low-scoring game. Three consecutive A’s batters were hit by pitches during the first inning en route to a three-run inning. Ben Calden ripped a double that turned into an inside-the park home run, and Ryder Moore then singled to extend the rally, but the game ended with good defense from the Angels.
Minors Division
A’s 20, Tigers 14
The Tigers’ Erika Kindred hit one past a diving right fielder and ended up running all the way around the bases to score. Connor Bisby contributed a pair of hits, a double and a single. For the A’s, Josh Purtscher was 3-for-4.
Tigers 6, Red Sox 5
The Tigers took the lead with a huge rally in the fifth inning. The Red Sox got out of a bases-loaded jam, down one run, but couldn’t answer in the sixth. For the Sox, Cash Ebright had three hits, while on the mound pitcher Ryan Hodge fanned 7.
Majors Division
Rockies 21, Live Oak Giants 11
Chris Markey had two doubles, a single, and scored three runs as the Rockies ran away from the Live Oak Giants. Seamus McMilan also had a double and a single and scored twice. Owen Andrews hit his first homer of the season in the second inning.
Braves 12, Live Oak Cubs 11
Coleman Woolfolk scored a walk-off run on a passed ball in the bottom of the sixth inning to give the Braves an interleague win. Zach Kanter reached base three times and scored twice. In the No. 9 spot, Nick Thorne drew 2 walks and had a sacrifice, which led to a crucial run.
Scotts Valley Little League
AAA Division
Cardinals 18, Cubs 4
Luke Hollingsworth had a triple and a double with five RBIs, while winning pitcher Ian Eisenhut had three hits, including a triple for the Cards. Johnny Nava-Campos pitched the final three innings, striking out seven, and had two hits in the victory.
Braves 11, Yankees 10
Braves beat the Yankees behind the pitching of Adrien Ruf and Carson Codiga who struck out 11 batters.
Nolan LaRiviere drove in four runs with three doubles and Nick Del Mar and Wilder Lockwood had two hits.
The Yankees were led by the hitting and defense of Matt Solis and Isaiah Fusari who lined a triple to the fence.
Majors Division
Nationals 8, Tigers 7
For the Nationals Anthony Abruzzini was 2-for- 3 with a single and double, Arthur Soto went 2-for-3 with a home run, while Ambrosio Torres, Shane Williams and JD Burnett all had singles. Starting pitchers Evan Foy struck out two and Arthur Soto came in to strike out 7 batters and Anthony Abruzzini closed the game with 2 strikeouts. The Tigers rallied back with hits from Jaden Meulman, Abdouley Sow, Robert Hipwell, Casey Collins, and Gabriel Keith who had a double.
Nationals 12, Padres 4
In the last regular season game of the season, the Nationals came out on top with strong hitting by Tyler Costere, going 2-for-2 with a triple, single and three walks. Austin Smith went 2-for-3 with two singles, Cameron Roberson went 3-for-3 with three singles, Tyler
Rehnberg went 2-for-4 with two singles and Arthur Soto went 2-for-2 with a single, home run and two walks. On the mound, Soto struck out seven.
For the Padres, Shane Burns, Davin Kiesby and Jack Matty combined for 11 strikeouts.
Kiesby went 2 for 3, Tim Miller, Logan Ross, Bryce Clark, Braden Wilson and Sören Burns all added hits. Shane Burns added a home run.
Padres 11, Pirates 3
Nick Endres, Josh Mahony, Zane Fuller and Lucas Della were on the mound for the Pirates and combining for eight strikeouts. Endres and Dillon Danner both doubled. Sören Burns started on the mound for the Padres and Bryce Clark finished the game with 14 strikeouts in five innings. Jack Matty, Josh Flores, Logan and Mitchell Ross, Tim Miller and Samuel McNeely contributed with hits or scored a run.
50/70 Division
Scotts Valley Little League introduced a new 12- and 13-year-old 50/70 team for the first time this season. They are a traveling team playing teams from Santa Cruz, San Jose, Sunnyvale and Santa Clara. Their record for the season is 5-0. This week their opponent was a San Jose team, the Evergreen Blue Jays.
Scotts Valley 14, Evergreen 2
Zach Snider, Sören Burns and Garret Hormel all pitched for Scotts Valley, allowing five hits
and two walks combined. Each player on the team, Nick Endres, Bryce Clark, Bryce Gundersen, Dillon and Henry Danner, Shane Burns and the pitchers totaled 11 hits. Also on the team, but absent in this game, were Ryan Bariteau, EJ Bright and Trevor Stocker.
