Randall Scott Manson
Sept. 1 1964 to April 22, 2014
After a four-year battle with diabetic kidney failure, Randall Scott Manson passed away in Santa Cruz.
Born and raised in Felton, he attended San Lorenzo Valley schools, and graduated from San Lorenzo Valley High School in 1982.
Manson attended Cabrillo College, where he received an AA degree, before he attended Fresno State University.
He was a third-generation Santa Cruz native and an active member of the Santa Cruz Moose Lodge No. 545.
Randy loved sailing and fishing the lakes of California and Oregon — especially Lake McClure, where he camped and houseboated as a teenager.
Friends and family knew him as an adventurous, caring man with a wonderful sense of humor. He was associated with Manson Insurance Agency, both in San Jose and Santa Cruz.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Manson.
He is survived by his mother, Sandra Manson; stepfather Michael Brown; brother Chris Manson (Alla); stepsister Karin Kidd (David); stepbrother Kevin Brown (Janet); as well as numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, and nieces.
A celebration of life is scheduled to be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, at the Santa Cruz Moose Lodge, located at 2470 El Rancho Drive in Scotts Valley.
