Participants sought for Felton Remembers Parade
The Felton Business Association is inviting entrants to participate in the 26th Felton Remembers Parade. The event is held Memorial Day weekend each year to remember and honor U.S. Veterans and those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
This year, the parade will be held on Saturday, May 24. Set-up starts at 8 a.m., and the parade starts at 9:45 a.m.
The Felton Business Association is encouraging veterans and people serving in the military, marching bands, school and community groups, families, classic car owners, equestrians, and other groups to participate.

Felton Library Friends announces meeting about new library
The Felton Library Friends invites the community to a meeting to discuss the status of plans for the new library in Felton.
Library Board members Supervisor Bruce McPherson, Citizen Member Jim Mosher and Felton Library Friends representative Nancy Gerdt will be on-hand to provide updates on proposals for a ballot measure to fund county library facilities, possible new structures for library administration, and a future campaign to pass a ballot measure.
Community members are encouraged to bring questions, comments, and ideas.
The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 29, from 7 to 8:15 p.m., at the Felton Fire Protection District at 131 Kirby Street in Felton.

Coast Guard Auxiliary to host water safety event
In observance of National Safe Boating Week, which runs from May 17 to May 24, the Santa Cruz and Capitola flotillas of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, will host a public information booth at the Santa Cruz Harbor launch ramp on Sunday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
An Auxiliary Patrol Vessel and the new 29 response boat from the Coast Guard Station Monterey will be on display for anyone interested in checking it out.
The event will feature free vessel safety checks, as well as discussions on safety on the water, at beaches, on the ocean, and at rivers and lakes.

Woof to Woof event headed for Skypark
The 10th Annual Woof to Woof event is coming to Scotts Valley on Saturday, May 31, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Skypark soccer fields.
This free event features adoptable dogs, low-cost vaccination clinic, microchipping, and a dog food booth, in addition to family activities.
All proceeds will benefit the Vista Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

Members of the Scotts Valley Historical Society announced that they will be present at the Scott House — Scotts Valley’s oldest structure — to answer any questions and to conduct tours of the home.

SLV Museum seeks parade participants
The San Lorenzo Valley Museum announced it is seeking historically minded people to join its group walking in this year’s Felton Remembers Parade on on Saturday, May 24.
The museum is especially looking for both retired and active military to be a part of the group, and owners of classic cars and trucks are welcome for participants that can’t walk the entire length of the parade.
