On Sunday, Aug. 31, Scotts Valley residents Virgil and Donna Kannall will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary with an intimate dinner with their immediate family.
Married in 1949, in Donna’s hometown of Polo, Ill., they moved permanently to Scotts Valley’s Spring Lakes Mobile Home Park in 2002 in order to be closer to their family in the area.
Virg is retired after 32 years with the Pillsbury Company as plant engineer in Springfield, Ill. Donna worked as a private secretary to an insurance agent in Springfield after their five children were grown. The couple’s children are Steve (Cheryl) Kannall of Springfield, Ill., Greg (Linda) Kannall of Mountain View, Jane (Jeff) Koopman of Scotts Valley, John (Penny) Kannall of Elm Grove, Wis., and Julie Kannall of Scotts Valley.
They have 12 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
