The Scotts Valley Press-Banner is currently accepting essays for its Kids of Summer Essay Competition.
Middle and high school students within Scotts Valley and the San Lorenzo Valley, are invited to submit a 500 to 700 word essay on a local historical topic.
Each essay should be sent to [email protected] as an attachment with “Essay Contest” in the subject line, followed by the name, grade, school, and phone number of the student. Only one essay will be accepted per student, and the deadline to submit is Wednesday, May 13.
The winning essay will be printed in our May 22, Kids of Summer 2.0 Issue.
Historical topics may include local landmarks, people, and events.
