Shirley Baker passed away on June 10, 2015 at the age of 86.
Shirley was born in San Francisco on January 2, 1929. She married the love of her life Chuck Baker on Nov. 27, 1948. They lived in the bay area before moving to the Santa Cruz area in 1969.
Shirley loved gardening, exercising at the Capitola Spa, being with her family and volunteering her time. She worked at the American Heart Association, Food and Nutrition, organized volunteers at Vine Hill School in Scotts Valley, was a catechism teacher at St. Augustine in Scotts Valley, and was the assistant Manager at Rodeo Gulch Mobile Estates. Shirley loved people and was always volunteering to help others. The most important things to her were God, family, and friends. She will be terribly missed.
Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband who passed in 2008. Shirley is survived by her daughter Susie and her husband Walt, son Tim and his wife Sue, and son Steve and his wife Odile. Also, her loving grandchildren Candice, Shelby, and Travis.
Her funeral was held at St. Joseph’s Church in Capitola on June 19 followed by a reception at Rodeo Gulch mobile Estates.
