On Tuesday, September 22, two people were arrested for the reported stabbing of an employee and patron at Scopazzi’s Restaurant in Boulder Creek
Arrested were Kyle S. Shields, 32, and Sonia D. Jepson from San Mateo. They left the restaurant without paying for their meals and drinks. Shields allegedly stabbed the waiter and a patron who tried to collect the unpaid bill.
The owner, Talal Janby, got the license number before Shields and Jepson fled the scene in their BMW according to Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Lt. Bob Payne
Shield is held on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and Jepson is held on charges of battery and accessory to a crime. Both were held in jail in lieu of $200,000 bail for each according to the jail records.
The waiter and the restaurant’s customer suffered non-life threatening stab wounds. Both are reported to be recovering.
