Two Bonny Doon Union Elementary School board members resigned this week after serving a year on the school board.
Sam Clarkson, who was elected to a two-year term, and Tyler Bourcier, elected to a four-year term, both are stepping away from the board after their election in November 2008.
Clarkson cited personal reasons, and Bourcier said he and his wife purchased a home within another school district.
Both men were involved in hiring Superintendent-Principal Stephanie Siddens in the spring.
“Tyler’s experience as a Montessori teacher added depth to our academic questions, while Sam’s business experience enriched our financial discussions,” board president Lisa Palm said in a prepared statement.
The board will accept applications to fill the empty positions until 4 p.m. Nov. 9 and will appoint two Bonny Doon residents to the board within 60 days. Applications are available at Bonny Doon School.
The appointments will last until next fall, when an election will determine the seats. The board meets monthly at 4:30 p.m. Mondays. Meetings usually last two to three hours.
