I am so very proud of the young men on the Scotts Valley Varsity football team for the determination, hard work and perseverance they have shown this season.
I am also proud of the Falcons fans who drove to Pacific Grove over the Thanksgiving holiday to not only experience an amazing hard-played heartbreaker game, but cheered their lungs out in the bitter cold at the CCS semi finals. It felt like half the town of Scotts Valley was cheering at the game. These young men, guided by a staff of incredible dedicated coaches, need to be recognized and honored for fighting the hard fight the whole season—from blow out wins to the memorable, once-in-a-life-time game with (count them) five overtime periods to win over SLV.
What a season you had, Falcon Varsity team! An 8 – 4 record in league and post league play is nothing to be ashamed of. You all are stronger young men because of this season. Hold your heads up high and be very, very proud.
