Each January gives us a wealth of opportunities to improve ourselves. It’s a chance to resolve to become a better person, to treat others kinder, to take care of ourselves, to lose weight, stop smoking, to get our finances in order, to learn a new hobby, to read “Gone With the Wind,” or “War and Peace,” if you are inclined.
Of course, most of these resolutions are easier said than done but an important one we do not want to overlook is to take care of our selves physically. The ScottsValley area has several good spas where trained and experienced massage therapists can work their magic on your body and make you feel like a new person.
Julie Lewis and Carol Marting of Scotts Valley Spa & Boutique, at 4301 Scotts Valley Drive, invite the public to visit and experience their full services spa. Carol and Julie believe that women, men and teenagers of all ages can benefit from the stress-relieving and health-giving effects of massage and/or aesthetic care.
Their youngest client is a teenager and the oldest is a lady in her late 80’s who comes in regularly. About 16 percent of their clientele are men and that number is steadily growing, so men, there is no need to be shy. Most of their staff are women but they now have one male masseuse as well.
In the Felton area, long-time massage therapist Wendy Selleck has just moved to new quarters at 6116 Highway 9. She says her goal is to make people feel better. She sells Passion Moon Potion gluten-free skin cream products made in Kona, Hawaii at her studio.
So if you have never experienced the health-giving benefits of a good massage or aesthetic treatment, make this the year that you try it. You will no doubt love it!
