In the morning hours of December 25, 2015, the Shell Gas Station located at 90 Mt. Herman Road reported that a man was slumped over the wheel of his vehicle. Scotts Valley Police Department Officers responded to the call.
Reportedly, officers located the vehicle and contacted the occupant, Robert Truhitte, who was well-known to officers from multiple prior contacts. Officers conducted a records check on Truhitte which revealed that he had five outstanding warrants for his arrest and was on active probation in Santa CruzCounty. He was also out on bond from a recent arrest.
“Officers conducted a probation search pursuant to the terms of his probation and located several items of stolen property, as well as .85 pounds of methamphetamine and nine grams of heroin. Officers also located paraphernalia and items consistent with narcotics sales/distribution,” reported Officer Paul Lopez. Officers also located a set of brass knuckles during the search, according to Officer Lopez.
Truhitte was arrested and booked at the county jail on charges of possession of narcotics for sale, transportation of narcotics for sale, committing a felony while out on bond, probation violation and possession of a prohibited weapon.
