Santa Cruz County Law Enforcement Torch Runners and Special Olympics Northern California are seeking plungers for the 2016 Santa Cruz Polar Plunge which will be held on February 27, 2016 at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.
The Polar Plunge is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations, and businesses to support local Special Olympics athletes by jumping or running into a chilly body of water in the middle of winter! The Polar Plunge is not a swim, it’s a party! For a minimum of $125 in donations, brave souls with warm hearts take a quick dip in chilly waters and then share bragging rights at a post plunge party.
Don’t want to dip, but still want to help? Register as a “chicken” and you’ll be excused from plunging, but probably not from a little friendly ridicule for those who do plunge.
Participants collect pledges on-line and set up their own personal fundraising page on our Polar Plunge website and then email family, friends and co-workers to support them right from the comfort of their living room.
Costumes are encouraged. Awards will be presented to top fundraisers, best costumes and more.
Individuals who raise a minimum of $125 will receive a Polar Plunge hooded sweatshirt and free admittance to the post plunge festivities which includes lunch. Additional incentive levels and rewards can be earned!
Register today at http://www.polarplungenorcalnv.com/ or visit www.sonc.org.
