AMGEN tour returns to Santa Cruz
The AMGEN Tour of California will make a stop in Santa Cruz for the second consecutive year, tour officials announced last week.
Stage 3 of the eight-stage tour known as the best road race in the United States will traverse from San Francisco to Santa Cruz on May 18 — including a ride through Bonny Doon down to the Santa Cruz finish line.
The 2009 race took place in February, and riders were greeted with a rain storm along the north coast. Race officials hope the May race will have better weather.
