A still image from surveillance video shows the armed holdup in Santa Cruz.

On February 24 at approximately 12:21 a.m., Santa Cruz Police responded to a report of a robbery at the 7-Eleven store in the 2400 block of Mission Street. Two suspects had entered the convenience store dressed in all dark clothing and black face coverings.
One of the suspects was confronted by the employee’s dog but the employee called off the dog when the suspect pointed a gun at it. The suspects then demanded cash at gunpoint. The cash was turned over and they fled the scene.
The robbery was captured on the store’s video. Both suspects are described as Hispanic males 18-25 years old. Witnesses in the area reported a white Mercedes or Lexus sedan with the lights out driving at a high rate of speed through the neighborhood after the robbery.
Detectives are working closely with other law enforcement agencies to collaborate on similar cases. Anyone with information relative to the suspects’ identities is encouraged to contact the Santa Cruz Police Department Investigation Unit at 420-5820 or at Tip Line 420-5995.
