The California Highway Patrol is hosting a free child safety seat check down in Santa Cruz on Sunday.
According to a news release this week from the CHP, certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will be on-hand for the Car Seat Check-up, April 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Toys R Us, 1660 Commercial Way in Santa Cruz.
People must bring their vehicle and car seat manuals and the children who will use the seat should also be there to ensure a proper fit.
Experts will be available to check car seats for proper installation and assist with installing car seats. The CHP will replace old, expired, recalled or damaged seats as needed.
No appointment is necessary but the CHP warns that this is a first come, first served free event.
