An umbrella-carrying man who robbed Liberty Bank in Felton on Tuesday, Jan. 10, was still at large late Wednesday.
Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies reported that a man in his early ‘40s, about 6 feet tall, wearing a black or brown jacket and beanie, entered the bank at about 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
The man demanded that the teller give him cash, and told her he was carrying a gun.
“No gun was seen,” said Sgt. Chris Clark, spokesman for the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office.
Police did not release the exact amount of money that was stolen.
No customers were in the bank at the time of te robbery, and the bank was closed for three hours while police investigated.
The sheriff’s office asks that anyone with information on the robbery should call 831-471-1121.
