EDITOR,
I just read the story about Allie Pomianowski, who is paralyzed after a tragic automobile accident on Mount Hermon Road (“Paralyzed driver to sue county after crash,” Page 7, Nov. 13). She and her family have my sympathies. But suing the county (i.e., the taxpayers in the county) goes beyond reason.
On their own blog site (referenced in the article), they said: “Posted by Allie at 2:07 PM on Monday, May 4, 2009 Dear Family & Friends on April 7 Allie was in a car accident that changed our lives forever. It was a rainy day and an unfortunate accident in which no one was to blame” (sic).
Living in the mountains, I can say that Mount Hermon is not a dangerous road by any means or comparison. I suspect the inexperienced driver on the wet road who lost control and crossed the center line is at fault, if anyone is.
You have my sympathy, not my wallet.
