A celebration of Daniel Moore Bailey’s life will be this weekend.
Mr. Bailey, 73, was born Oct. 3, 1936, in Long Island, N.Y. He and his wife, Patricia, started their 42 years together in New York in 1967 before moving cross country to Felton, where Mr. Bailey worked as a television repairman and later owned Springer’s Television.
In later years, he continued to enjoy working with his expertise in repair and maintenance of most anything mechanical or electrical.
To his friends, Mr. Bailey was a bowler, a golfer, a NASCAR fan, a prankster and a storyteller. He followed his children’s sports growing up in the San Lorenzo Valley and was involved with the San Lorenzo Valley Little League as coach, umpire, manager and president.
Mr. Bailey is survived by his wife, Patricia Catherine Bailey of Felton; daughter, Debra Ann Bailey of Aptos; and sons, Scott Allen Bailey of San Diego and John William Bailey and Michael Roy Bailey, both of West Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Martha Bailey.
A celebration of his life will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at The Point Chophouse and Lounge (formerly known as Portola House), 3326 Portola Drive, in Santa Cruz.
In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions or blood or platelet donations in Mr. Bailey’s memory may be given to the American Red Cross, www.sccredcross.org.
