The 3rd Annual Touch-A-Truck fundraiser rolls into town this Sunday, April 28. The Skypark event attracts thousands of visitors and raises funds for local public schools through the Scotts Valley Educational Foundation (SVEF).
“Our Touch-A-Truck event has grown substantially since our first event two years ago and provides an opportunity to explore all kinds of vehicles, from semis and fire and police vehicles, to agriculture and helicopters,” said Dennis Lane, SVEF president. “Being the only event of its kind in Northern California, we continue to be amazed at the number visitors we see each year – coming from as far away as Monterey to enjoy the event and our community, all to support our local public schools.”
All the vehicles will be parked on the old airport field adjacent to Skypark with the event running from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Trucks and Kid Zone open at 10:30 a.m. and Food Trucks and Beverage Garden open at 11:00 a.m.. Live music featuring several local high school bands begins at 11:00 a.m. as well, with the CALSTAR helicopter expected to land at noon.
The event is fun for families and kids of all ages as they explore over 50 trucks and one-of-a-kind vehicles. Visitors can get up close to all the vehicles on site and are invited to sit in the driver’s seats. The day also includes a climbing wall, inflatables, a reptile and petting zoo and craft activities.

Touch-A-Truck Santa Cruz is SVEF’s flagship fundraising event. The entire event is produced, planned and executed all by volunteers and 100 percent of funds raised go to the Scotts Valley Educational Foundation. SVEF provides annual funds to the school district to support essential programs and educational materials, keep budget cuts away from affecting the classroom, and benefit every child in the Scotts Valley School District.
