Cresson Fraley and Scott Lipscomb were selected from seven candidates to replace board members Sam Clarkson and Tyler Bourcier on the Bonny Doon Union Elementary School board.
Fraley is a scientist and entrepreneur who has been Site Council president and Parent’s Club treasurer. He has two children at the school and said he wants to continue to be involved in the community.
Lipscomb is the owner of Scott Lipscomb Landscape Architects and has coached soccer for two years.
Though he’s new to the board, Fraley doesn’t think any major changes are necessary, as the latest Academic Performance Index test scores from Bonny Doon Elementary were the highest in the county.
“We want to continue the path we’ve been on and continue to improve,” Fraley said.
The two new board members will be sworn in at the Dec. 16 board meeting and will serve until Nov. 4, when seats will be open on the school board.
Clarkson and Bourcier resigned in October. Clarkson cited personal reasons, and Bourcier had bought a home in a different school district. Both were elected in November 2008 and helped select Stephanie Siddens as principal and superintendent of the 120-student, kindergarten-through-sixth-grade school.
