The FireSafe Council of Santa Cruz County is hosting the inaugural Santa Cruz County Wildfire Resilience Summit on Thursday, June 6, from 2-6pm at the Santa Cruz County Veterans Memorial Building, 846 Front St., in Santa Cruz.
The Summit’s goal is to inform and inspire the general public as well as the other presenting organizations on shovel-ready and shovel-in-the-ground wildfire resilience projects happening in Santa Cruz County.

Participating organizations include Amah Mutsun Tribal Band, Cal Fire, California State Parks, Bureau of Land Management, Resource Conservation District of Santa Cruz County, Santa Cruz County Office of Education and Santa Cruz County Office of Response, Recovery and Resilience.
There will be presentations on Wildfire Prepared Homes and Firescaping, as well as an Innovation in Wildfire Management panel and Understanding Policy and How It Affects Your Community panel.
The purpose of the FireSafe Council of Santa Cruz County is to educate and mobilize the people of Santa Cruz County to protect their lives, homes, community and environment from wildfire. Events like the Wildfire Adaptation Speaker Series are inclusive, educational and followed by a brief Q&A session.
