Caltrans will host a public meeting next week in Felton to hear project details and provide input regarding the upcoming South Santa Cruz Highway 9 capital preventative maintenance project.
The meeting will take place Wednesday, Jan. 15, from 5-7pm at the Felton Community Hall, 6191 Highway 9.
This project will be located on Highway 9 between the Highway 1/River Street intersection with Highway 9 in Santa Cruz, and El Solyo Heights Drive in Felton.
The purpose of this project is to extend the life of the existing pavement on Highway 9, upgrade guardrail, replace culverts, install census stations, replace sign panels and install select complete street enhancements.
The complete streets enhancements will include installation of sidewalks and bike lanes, a pedestrian walkway entering Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, high-visibility crosswalk striping, rebuilding of transit stops at the San Lorenzo Valley schools complex and connecting the El Solyo Heights Drive bus stop to the sidewalk.
