Robin Hood takes center stage in SLV Theatre production
This October, the SLV Theatre Department will present “The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood,” a comedic adventure through Sherwood Forest written by Mary Lynn Dobson.
Directed by San Lorenzo Valley High School seniors Twain Bayless and Sarah Maloney, the play runs at the SLV Performing Arts Center from Oct. 3-12. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7pm, with Sunday matinees at 2pm. A special Community Night on Oct. 9 at 7pm offers discounted tickets.
In this humorous take, Robin Hood, aided by a wannabe Merry Man known as the Town’s Guy, battles the evil Prince John and Sheriff of Nottingham. Lady Marian remains loyal, helping Robin fight injustice while wishing skin ailments upon the villains. Robin, though charming and confident, learns important life lessons along the way.
Both directors bring experience from numerous high school and community theater productions, contributing to a lively and engaging performance.
Tickets can be purchased online through the SLV Theatre Boosters webpage, with limited at-the-door sales available an hour before each show. Advanced booking is recommended to secure seats.
