A dead body was found Wednesday morning in the Zayante area, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 12 to the area of E. Zayante Road and E. Creek Road after receiving a report of a deceased person. Deputies found the individual dead at the scene.
Sheriff’s officials said there was no indication of foul play and the death is not considered suspicious.
The identity of the individual has not been released pending notification of next of kin. The cause and manner of death remain under investigation, pending autopsy and toxicology results.
