EDITOR,
I read with interest John Laird’s opinion piece (“A Democrat pines for Pete Wilson,” Press-Banner, July 10). He’s angry at the governor for failing to work with Democrats in the Legislature. I’m waiting for Mr. Laird to become angry enough to quit his cushy job on the waste management board to which the governor appointed him.
I won’t hold my breath.

Editors note: Former democratic Assemblyman John Laird’s post on the California Integrated Waste Management Board will be eliminated on Jan. 1, 2010 — one of many cuts made to close a $26 billion budget shortfall in California.
