IOOF Softball

The San Lorenzo Valley IOOF recreational softball league crowned its spring champions prior to beginning its summer season.
On Sunday, June 10, the Steelheads, sponsored by Travis Tree Professionals, won their 10th championship in the co-ed A League.
The team defeated the Sharks, 25-21, which they followed by a 19-10 win over the Mountain Mechanics in the final at Michael Grey field in Felton. The win was the team’s seventh consecutive championship.
In the B League, the Bad News Beers won their first championship by defeating Monty’s Log Cabin, 15-3, before beating the Outlaws, 13-12, in the final. Their games were also at Michael Grey field.
The following day, Monday, June 11, play began in the summer league atHighlandsPark. The season will run through Aug. 14 in three divisions, the men’s A and B leagues and the co-ed league.
