Former Scotts Valley resident Alexander D. Ratliff, of Salinas, died Sunday, Jan. 8, from injuries sustained in an auto accident on Reservation Road near Marina. He was 19.
Mr. Ratliff, born in Santa Cruz, had attended school in the Scotts Valley Unified School District and was attending Monterey Peninsula College.
Relatives said his smiles, quick wit and positive outlook will be missed. He enjoyed baseball, fishing, paintball and computer gaming.
He is survived by his parents, David and Irmina Ratliff of Salinas, and his grandmother, Marieta Aquino, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may pay their respects Thursday, Jan. 12 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Bayside Community Mortuary, 1610 Noche Buena Street in Seaside with the rosary to be recited at 7:00PM.
A mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated at San Carlos Cathedral in Monterey at 9:30 a.m. A committal service will follow at San Carlos Catholic Cemetery of Monterey.
There will be a reception to follow after interment services at Alex’s home at 17759 Riverbend Road, Las Palmas 1 in Salinas.
