The Santa Cruz Follies are at it again. The talented seniors of Santa Cruz County are putting on a variety show of sorts, titled “That’s Entertainment.”
“Our 36 experienced cast members and a dedicated backstage crew are developing a fast-paced show with intricate dance routines, singing, lots of movement and terrific costumes,” said director Jo Luttringer of Scotts Valley. “One enthusiastic member even learned to juggle to make his circus routine authentic.”
The show starts with a circus, before moving into a vaudeville set with a duel between divas Dolly and Mame. Then, a night club segment features familiar songs and dances followed by a few patriotic numbers and a dramatic close.
This is the 54th year the follies have put on a show, featuring an entire cast that’s 50-years-old and up.
Singing and dancing locals from Scotts Valley, the San Lorenzo Valley and Bonny Doon include Barry Miller, Terry and Lee Peterson, Marilyn Amos, Marc Bryant, Joanne Keener, Carol McMillan and Joyce Michaelson.
