Bullet from drive-by shooting ripped through the tailgate of this Scion wagon on Highway 9 in Ben Lomond early Monday, then through both seats and the dashboard before bouncing off the engine firewall.

Random drive-by shootings echoed throughout the San Lorenzo Valley early Monday morning, Feb. 26, with reports of gunfire and bullet holes in cars and other structures in Boulder Creek, Ben Lomond, and Felton.
No injuries were reported, and no arrests, as of Tuesday, Feb. 28.
Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies were investigating reports of similar shootings in Boulder Creek and Felton.
Ryan McCune, of Boulder Creek, sent the Press Banner this video he took Monday morning, Feb. 27 of the bullet holes in his car parked in his driveway. His neighbors on Highway 9 in Ben Lomond heard five shots about 12:30 a.m.
