Art, wine and beer tasting, fine eats and good conversation will all surely part of the 14th annual Scotts Valley Art and Wine Festival.
The annual two-day event will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 10 and 11 at Skypark, 360 Kings Village Road in Scotts Valley. Admission is free with food and beverages available for purchase.
The festival will feature close to 100 Californian artists displaying their work. Paintings, photography, ceramics, jewelry, glass art, sculpture, etching, digital works, textile art and more will be on display.
Wineries and microbreweries will pour their best during the festival. Those in attendance include Bargetto Winery, Chaucer’s Cellars, Heart O’ The Mountain, Bruzzone Family Vineyards, Hallcrest Vineyards, Poetic Cellars, Dancing Creek Winery, Odonata Wines, Naumann Vineyards, Wargin Wines, 37th Parallel Winery, and MYKA Cellars.
Festival poster artist Tom Marlatt will sign the 2013 poster, titled “Wonderland.”
A barbecue pit featuring hamburgers and hot dogs, along with pizza, stuffed artichokes, tacos, kettle corn, smoothies, coffee drinks and pretzels will be available.
This year the festival will have a visit from Ronald McDonald who will perform a magic show for children at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11. Additionally, local artists will guide children through an art project at Kids Korner throughout the festival.
The festival will also feature a number of local bands, including Aftershock, No Respect, Joint Chiefs, Linda Arceo Band, Long Train Runnin’, and The Inciters during the two-day event.
