The work of a host of Bonny Doon artists will be on display next weekend during the second DoonArt Tour.
The two-day event, July 28 and 29, will feature 21 artists in 13 Bonny Doon studios who will show and demonstrate their work in a variety of media.
Maps — available on the website www.bonnydoonstudiotour.com — and signs will guide visitors from studio to studio.
Below are profiles of several of the artists in the tour.
Suzanne Elliott, 189 McGivern Way
Three years ago, Suzanne Elliot left her professional life of 22 years and launched a career that let her express her creative side.
“Along with millions of others, the great recession forced many of us to make drastic life changes at a time not of our choosing,” Elliot said. “For me, this has been a wonderful opportunity.”
The result was something she loves.
“Finally, I can paint a lot more, travel and write,” Elliot said.
As an open-air painter and writer, Elliot began a quest to visit all 50 U.S.states and create artwork along the way.
“I have painted in 13 states so far,” Elliot said. “I write about my experiences, as well. This is proving to be a multilayered and enriching experience.”
In addition to her canvases, she makes hand-painted silk scarves and is taking classes in ceramics and painted furniture.

Ted Louv, 65 Towhee Drive
Photographer Ted Louv has shot photographs since the early 1940s. He began at his school prom and became a darkroom developer and eventually a professional photographer of nature.
But life placed a hurdle in his path when he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. His trembling hands and body made it difficult to control the camera.
Louv was not to be deterred. Today, he relies on several tools to make beautiful photos — a tripod and a metal T-bar that hangs around his neck and allows him to rest the camera against his chest.
Another device, a vibration reduction lens, steadies the camera’s image.
With his creativity intact, he is producing photography on large canvas triptychs and on cotton quilt hangings for home décor.
Eli Steltenpohl, 10 Pine Flat Road
Eli Steltenpohl was born in Santa Cruz in 1987 and spent most of his childhood in Bonny Doon and Davenport. He graduated from Oberlin College in 2011 with a degree in environmental studies and studio art.
Steltenpohl spends half the year managing a restaurant in southern Chile. He spends the other half in Santa Cruz making art and tending to his family orchard.
Using found objects, Steltenpohl’s art focuses on the fusion of manufactured and natural materials, displayed both as sculpture and as images printed with the 19th-century process known as cyanotype.
He finds humor and delicate beauty in the combinations of rusty wire and vines or farm tools and root balls.

Linda Levy and Larry and Pat Worley, 418 Westdale Drive
The home of artist Linda Levy will also host fellow artists Pat and Larry Worley.
Visitors will notice Larry Worley’s old-world basketry techniques, handcrafted and woven baskets built around animal horns or local wood branches.
Levy, a painter, will also show her latest figurative ceramic sculptures.
Pat Worley will display textile wall hangings patched together from hand-dyed fabrics.
All three artists will demonstrate their techniques during the show.
