The future home of Bay Photo on Disc Drive is roughly two months away from completion, as the Santa Cruz-based company plans to take over the 17-acre former home of Seagate in Scotts Valley.
“We don’t have an exact (move-in) date just yet,” said Bay Photo President Larry Abitbol this week. “Maybe late August.”
The $10.7 million project got under way in September 2011, when Bay Photo closed escrow on the property.
The remodeling calls for a 9,000-square-foot addition that will connect two existing buildings to create one large space for photo printing and finishing.
Once finished, the building will occupy 105,000 square feet and house the growing company’s production and corporate headquarters.
Fox Racing Shox moved its corporate headquarters from Watsonville in late 2011 into a 51,000-square-foot structure across the street from Bay Photo’s future digs.
Bay Photo has leased that space to the racing equipment company.
