Firefighters with CalFire and other local agencies are battling a 271 acre wildfire in Boulder Creek called the Bear Fire.
According to the state firefighting agency, the Bear Fire started at about 10:30 p.m. Monday along Bear Creek Road and — as of 9 a.m. Wednesday — is 10% contained.
“The fire is burning in steep inaccessible terrain covered by drought stressed fuels and moving north into heavy timber. Temperatures are expected to reach 76-84 degrees, with relative humidity near 18-28% throughout the fire area, with winds of 5-10 mph,” CalFire said in a statement.
According to CalFire, 150 structures are still threatened.
There have been 5 firefighters injured while battling in the steep terrain. As of Tuesday, 884 fire personnel — up from 190 on Tuesday, 96 fire engines, a dozen helicopters — up from two on Tuesday, 11 bulldozers and 13 water tenders were engaged in the fight.
There is an evacuation order for more than a dozen roads at. The list is changing regularly, but is on listed on the left. There is a Bear Fire information line set up at (831)335-6717.

Boulder Creek Recreation, 13333 Middleton Ave., is providing free child care from 9-6 p.m.
Zyante Fire Department in Felton, 7700 E. Zayante Rd., is open for evacuees
Boulder Creek Elementary School, 400 W Lomond St., is also housing evacuees
