Bethany set to run in conference final
The Bethany University Cross Country team is set to run at the California Pacific Athletic Conference final at Simpson University in Redding on Friday, Nov. 6.
The Bruins, who are completing their second full cross country season, and will be led on the men’s side by freshman Antony Earley, who could be in the mix for the conference championship.
Rain is the forecast for the meet.
Bruins cap soccer season
Freshman Breann Anderson led the California Pacific Athletic Conference in saves this season, despite the Bruins’ 1-7 record in conference play. Anderson averaged 9.18 saves during the season and 11.57 in CalPac play.
The Bruins fell 4-0 to William Jessup University in their final game of the season, Wednesday, Nov. 4.
With two games remaining, the Bethany men’s team is 2-8 in conference play after falling 2-0 to William Jessup on Wednesday.
Bruins hoops ranked 5th in conference
In a preseason coaches poll, the Bruins were ranked fifth of seven basketball teams in the CalPac.
The Bruins opened the season 0-2, losing 99-53 to California Baptist University and 69-56 to Hope International University. Both games were at the Lancers Classic in Riverside.
The Bruins will host University of California, Merced, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7.
Volleyball battles for tournament bid
The fate of the Bruins women’s volleyball team will be determined this week as it battles for the fifth and final seed in the CalPac postseason tournament.
To qualify, the team must win Friday, Nov. 6, against Simpson University as well as have either Simpson or Pacific Union lose its final two matches.
The Bruins are 3-8 in conference.
