Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey gave up the Big Top circus tent years ago, but the American Crown Circus is still going strong in its striped canvas home.
This one-ring circus, featuring high-wire performers and Coconut the Clown, will be in Scotts Valley on Tuesday, May 19, through Thursday, May 21, as a Scotts Valley Chamber of Commerce fundraiser.
Also in the circus’ annual spring visit, Bronco, billed as “the world’s smallest horse,” will do tricks, and the Angelos will perform death-defying motorcycle stunts in the Globe of Death.
The family-owned traveling circus is scheduled to arrive in Scotts Valley on Sunday, May 17, from Soledad and Half Moon Bay performances, and expects to erect the big tent Monday.
