A fight between two valley men turned fierce after a knife was pulled, leaving one man hospitalized and the other arrested.
“The two men knew each other by first and last name,” said Sgt. Dan Campos of the Santa Cruz Sherriff’s Office.
Bjorn Hansen, 32, was stabbed once on the left side of his upper torso Monday, Oct. 5, on the 500 block of River Drive at around 7:39 p.m., according to Campos.
Hansen of Boulder Creek had a bloodstained shirt and was flown to a trauma center in San Jose for treatment, Campos said.
Mark Karl Gunn was arrested an hour later on the 700 block of Wildwood Drive in Boulder Creek. The 53-year-old Boulder Creek resident was booked into county jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and held on $25,000 bail.
Gunn was cooperative during the arrest, according to the police report.
Police said the two men have a history of sordid encounters with each other, but in this incidence Gunn allegedly stabbed the other man on impulse.
