Christina Horvat has resigned from her position as general manager of the Boulder Creek Recreation and Park District.
Horvat wrote a letter to the district’s board of directors this week announcing her resignation as of Wednesday, June 15.
Tess Fitzgerald, the board president, said the board decided to buy out the rest of her contract, and Horvat is no longer with the district.
“She did a fantastic job, and we’re grateful to her for bringing a lot of family-oriented programming to the district,” Fitzgerald said.
Horvat, who was hired in May 2007, did not give a specific reason she was leaving in the letter to the district; however, she was cordial when discussing her time in Boulder Creek.
“I really enjoyed working with the community and the staff,” Horvat said Tuesday, June 7. “We accomplished a lot of things together, but there were some indicators that it was time for me to leave.”
Horvat said she is proud of the programs she developed and the “awesome team of rec staff” she built while managing the district.
The existing staff will continue activities through the summer, and the board will advertise the general manager position in local newspapers, Fitzgerald said.
“We’re in pretty good shape to carry on in the interim,” Fitzgerald said.
